We were driving home from having dinner with my parents tonight and I played the Hillsong-"Superstrong God" CD for the girls in the car.  I played the title song, "Super Strong God," and the girls began to sing along. After a short while, Chet noticed that El was raising her hands and closing her eyes while she was singing. Maddie soon followed. They sang the song about 3 times (on repeat), raising their hands and worshiping God. They then worshiped to the next song, Let the Children Come. Maddie said, “I’m just worshiping God, I don’t care what song it is.” When we got home, El said that while she was raising her hands, she felt something funny between her hands. Like heavy air. I told her that was the presence of God. That made her happy and excited. Maddie said she felt it too. El also said that she felt something like a long cloth and it was very soft, as she was raising her hands. I told her perhaps that was Jesus’ robe. I had just begun attending a moms’ Bible study group and we’re studying the book of Revelations. I had just finished studying Rev. 1:12-16 this morning where it describes the vision that John had on Patmos.  Jesus was speaking to him and He was wearing a white robe that went down to his feet. Maddie said, “I want to do this everyday!” It really warmed my heart to see them so excited about experiencing the presence of God and getting a taste of worship. Praise God for such blessings.

No one is worthy to come before God, no one is "good enough." But Jesus desires that we simply come before Him and be with Him.  Only through the redeeming power of the blood of Jesus are we cleansed of our sins and so are able to come before Him, a Holy God, without fear. Let's all worship Him like little children.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;" (Romans 3:23-24)

"Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." (Hebrews 10:19-22)

I've been praying for a while for Maddie to bond with at least one of her classmates at school.  It took her about a year and a half to make one good friend last year, but that girl just recently left the school. I've been praying more often and more consistently ever since I found out that that girl left.  Two days ago, on Wednesday, she told me, "Nobody wanted to play with me today, but I didn't want to play with anybody either."  It made me feel sad that she didn't have friends in class and she just didn't like going to school at all. But today, I saw one of Maddie's teachers in the parking lot as she was headed to her car and she waved to me and told me how Maddie had a great day. She told me how Mads was laughing and playing with two other girls in class, she was even being loud! (Which is very, very unusual for Mads, unless she's at home.) Her teacher was really happy and I was so happy too. After picking her up, Mads said to me, "I had so much fun today, I forgot about you, Mommy!" And I take that as a good thing. Thank you, Jesus, You are so faithful.

April 11, 2004: Easter Sunday

Yesterday, El woke up very sick. She was throwing up about every 15 minutes the entire day, except when she slept. She took two naps because she was so weak and tired. She had nothing to eat, yet she was vomiting and only had an ounce of soda or Pedialite every hour.  I prayed with her before she took her second nap, asking Jesus to heal her.

This morning, El wakes up and she tells me, "Jesus healed me, in the night." I said, "Really? What did it feel like?" And she answered, "It felt like strawberries! Jesus' hand feels like strawberries and chicken,  on my toes. And it went up to my head, and then up and down, up and down, and in the middle, it felt like Hello Kitty in my tummy!" Praise God. El does look much better, happier, and more energetic than yesterday, and she hasn't vomited. Thank you, Jesus.
